My work lives in the many facets of contemporary art beginning with the mastery of the utilitarian ceramic vessel and how its presentation can foster participant engagement. At the root, my practice investigates the connections of how a maker of utilitarian vessels can link communities with ceramics vessels. My work symbolizes community engagement that makes aware that a thriving community can only exist with its participants in active engagement. Active engagement is key the ideas surrounding my practice such is evident to how I finish the work I make. Which is fired in a traditional wood-burning kiln with multiple participants helping. Like a unified functioning community wood firing can only be accomplished with the participation of a community.
