I truly look forward to welcoming you into my studio on this special tour day. May the frost gods hold off so my gardens are still beautiful with my work displayed within their abundance. This annual tour event serves as a showcase of my newest work while at the same time is a great way to have a studio cleaning.
My studio will showcase - multi media works on paper and my complex but whimsical one-of-a-kind porcelain and stoneware vessels. I will include clay vessels in multiple forms including non-utilitarian sculptural pieces. I look forward to featuring my newest work, similar construction processes and shapes from previous years, but with the fired surface that expresses the ultimate artistry of the wood fired anagama kiln. This work has become the focus of my studio workday, with the weeks spent traveling to these wood-fired anagama kilns a time of artistic companionship and personal artistic growth.
My mixed media works on paper and clay board are the end result of a working studio and a secondary graphic design career. My images have evolved from digital camera work, mixed medias, and the simple pencil. This work, all one-of-a-kind compositions.
Visiting my studio space is interesting because it is organized for the various work flows that are required in my studio regimen, gardening, clay work, kiln firings, drawing & mixed media projects, all produced within a small, economical environment. I enjoy watching everyone's response.
Thank you ahead of time for your attendance and the intrigue of sharing my working space for a day.
